Reshad Jones is building up a reputation as perhaps the most underrated player in the NFL.
Miami’s playmaking free safety racked up 135 tackles last season, fourth overall in the league and tops among defensive backs. Jones also had five interceptions (two returned for touchdowns), two sacks and one fumble recovery. Some players and media — and a lot of Dolphins fans — believe Jones is the best safety in the NFL. But when the 2015 Pro Bowl selections were announced, Jones was not on the list.
Jones was later added to the roster as an alternate, and he ended up playing in the Pro Bowl due to some defensive backs who were originally voted in having to skip the game due to their teams being in the Super Bowl. But that initial snub was possibly the most glaring of any Pro Bowl snub from last season.
One list Jones wasn’t left off was the NFL Network’s annual Top 100 players ranking, which is voted on by NFL players. The University of Georgia product made this year’s list at No. 64.
